The Zakharovo estate near Moscow is part of the Pushkin State History and Literary Museum-Reserve. The place was first mentioned in documents in the 16th century. It belonged to the nobles Komynin, Urusov, Savelov, Tinkov.
From 1804 to 1811, the Zakharova estate was owned by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin's grandmother, Maria Alekseevna Hannibal. The young Pushkin spent the summer months in Zakharov with his family from 1805 to 1810. Here the future poet was inspired by the majestic beauty of nature, played games with peasant children, and listened to folk songs. Pushkin composed his first poems in Zakharov. A park and a pond have been preserved on the territory.
In 1999, the Maria Hannibal Manor house was restored to mark the 200th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin's birth. At the same time, Zakharovo became a branch of the museum-reserve. The museum of the great poet's childhood is located here. The exhibition introduces the surroundings of the young Pushkin, the poet's family, Pushkin's studies in Zakharov and his childhood secrets.
Sightseeing tours are conducted around the Zakharova estate. Interactive programs and museum classes on the theme of Pushkin's childhood are offered to children. Books, booklets and souvenirs can be purchased at the kiosks of the museum-reserve.
From 1805 to 1810 Alexander Pushkin spent every summer here. It was in these places, in his grandmother's estate near Moscow, that Pushkin first saw the beauty of Russian nature, peasant dances, heard folk songs, saw the life of the rich and provincial nobility, his views on life were formed here, here he began to write his first poems, here he developed as a great national poet. Pushkin also came here during the most difficult periods of his life.
